KP Emergency Referral Portal

1. Introduction
The KP Emergency Referral Portal supports secure communication between hospitals and healthcare professionals. Doctors and authorized medical staff can refer patients during emergencies and attach clinical evidence such as photographs, medical images, and PDF reports.
This helps the receiving hospital make faster and more accurate medical decisions. We are committed to protecting the privacy, security, and confidentiality of both healthcare professionals and patient information.
2. Ownership and Data Governance
This application and all system data are owned by the Policy Board of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Health Department.
All information is securely stored on the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) server infrastructure. The system processes data only from government-owned or policy board–governed hospitals operating under the KP Health Department.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Personal Information
Name, professional designation, hospital affiliation, official contact number, email address, and authentication credentials.
3.2 Patient Information
Patient name or identifier, age, gender, medical history, clinical observations, diagnosis, referral notes, and supporting reports.
3.3 Medical Images & Documents
Doctors may upload camera photographs, medical images, and PDF documents to support the referral process and improve coordination between hospitals.
3.4 Device & Technical Information
Device type, operating system version, IP address, system logs, and diagnostic information to improve system reliability and security.
4. Application Permissions
- Camera Permission – Capture medical photographs during referral.
- Storage / File Access – Upload medical images and PDF reports.
- Notification Permission – Receive referral updates and hospital responses.
5. Purpose of Data Collection
Information is collected strictly for healthcare and operational purposes including facilitating hospital referrals, enabling doctors to share supporting medical evidence, improving coordination between healthcare facilities, maintaining clinical documentation, and ensuring system security and performance.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or commercially distribute personal or patient data. Information may only be shared between referring and receiving hospitals, authorized health departments, or when required by law.
7. Data Security
The system implements industry-standard security practices including secure authentication, role-based access control, encrypted data transmission, and secure server infrastructure.
Although strong safeguards are implemented, no digital platform can guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
Patient and referral information is retained only for the period required for clinical, administrative, or regulatory purposes. After that period, data may be securely deleted or anonymized.
9. User Responsibilities
Authorized users must use the system only for official medical purposes, protect their login credentials, and ensure that only relevant medical information is uploaded to the portal.
10. Children's Privacy
This system is designed exclusively for healthcare professionals and hospital staff and is not intended for use by minors or the general public.
11. Third-Party Services
The application may use secure third-party infrastructure services such as hosting or notification services. These providers must comply with strict confidentiality and data protection standards.
12. Policy Updates
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect improvements in system functionality, legal requirements, or enhanced security practices.
